While DJMAX‘s first appearance was on PC in 2004 with the release of DJMAX Online, the DJMAX Portable series on the PlayStation Portable was what helped the popularity of the series skyrocket. For the first time in DJMAX history, Respect was released on console, lending its hand in helping revive the long-dormant consumer rhythm game genre. When DJMAX Respect was released in 2018, many fans of the longtime niche Korean rhythm game were drawn by the return of Neowiz MUCA’s flagship series. ![]()
